We got these photos shot just in the nick of time... Fall portraiture is always a tricky waiting game. One day the leaves you want to spice up the portraits are flourishing in beautiful fall colors, the next a 60 mph wind rolls through and dissipates all that wonderful scenery.
STREET FAIRS AND MINI MODELS
Graham is always ready to test locations with me. We dash out of the car, run up and down hills, around trees, hand in hand across busy streets. He is always down to do what I ask. This was a marathon day of it and we were rushing so much I guess he clenched his fists and managed his fake smile for me. I may be the only one who enjoys it because I know the context but oh well.
Now Ellen, you can rarely get her to pose at you want....but she has the most moods of any little girl I've ever come across. I appreciate her for teaching me patience and waiting for the "Ellen" moment.

PIMENTO CHEESE & APPLE JUICE
Remember how I said you should always make sure to shoot a few shots for yourself on a hired job? Well it just so happens that these are one of my favorite settings/subjects to shoot. Quiet occasions with a small group and somehow, the camera fades away from their focus. Leaving them to enjoy each other's company and relax. And in this case, enjoy the grub...pimento cheese and apple juice. Can't beat that.
FINAL JOHNSON POST
I usually feel really happy when I've completed a job. But I am quite sad I have no more shoots schedule with Alivia or editing to do. She is one of my favs. As a fellow photog, there's a good chance we will bump into each other again.. until then....
I MEAN...WHAT IS THERE TO SAY..
Love shooting Alivia. You're gonna see a lot of post from our shoots.
SENIORS WHERE YOU AT
Livy is probably in my top ten people I would shoot over and over and over again. Even through all of my stuttering and stammering, she understood what I wanted her to do. More to come next week...
BLESSING THE LAND
It's been awhile!! I've been busy with a few shoots and one giant move! I finally have internet again and a semi set up office so I wanted to share this image from the Town & Country Mass in Mott, ND. I think it is important during any gig to make sure to take a shot for yourself, not necessarily something that the client requested, but one that satisfies your soul. For me the image below is it. The summer has been a very tiring and difficult one in my beloved prairies. So hot. And so very, very dry.
EQUESTRIAN SHOOT
I tried my hand at Equestrian Photography...Here are some of my favorite shots.
SNEAK PEAK AT THE RIVER
Here's a sneak peak with my Fargo family last weekend.
It might not be everyones thing but I just love the disjointed non-uniform family portraits.
FARGO FAMILY PORTRAITS
You know when you photograph something and you can hardly wait to get it edited...That happened tonight. I have a million things to do before the morning but I HAD to sit down and look at some of these images. The last one reminds me of some sort of Alice in Wonderland dream world. Keep an eye out for more up soon!
VOGEL FAMILY AT...YOU GUESSED IT...THE LAKE
Even though we were interrupted by a storm...some nice shots came out of our little shoot.
